Back in 2008, Brandon Armstrong was in the news. The 13-year-old had just won the first junior champions on ‘Dancing With the Stars’. His partner Brittany Cherry, also from Utah, was quoted in Deseret News: “Oh my gosh, we are just so excited.”

The two had danced together for about 3 years. Armstrong’s dance skills, even at age 12, were impressive.
Fast forward to 2013, and Brandon Armstrong is saying goodbye to friends and family. The next two years of his life are spent far away from competitive dancing, as he serves in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission.
Fast forward again, to June 2015, and Armstrong is once again in the news. Now a contestant on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, he delights the LDS community by giving a proper shout out to his LDS mission. (The popular blog LDS Smile broke the story to the LDS online community.)
